Why would you want to stay at the Champs Elysees? Once you get over the Arc de Triomphe, the area is basically the same as Regent and Oxford streets in London or Times Square in New York. There are some better options in Paris that put you in neighborhoods, like the Renaissance Paris Republique Hotel. Many of the big sights are within 15 or 20 minutes by foot from the Republique.
Mostly because when I had spent time in Paris it had been in that area. I liked all the activity near by and I recall it pretty central to many places. Admittedly, that was a few years ago so it may be worth trying out a different place. Any others you'd recommend that have short walks to good food, sights, and maybe a garden or open area for our little kiddo?
