I booked a LHR-LAX-LHR fare via AA website (so AA ticket stock).

Outbound is on AA, inbound is on BA. The Outbound is in O Class. I am wondering if I am able to upgrade this to J cabin either before departure or at the airport, seats permitting? What is AA's procedure?

I flew once before on a LHR-JFK and was given the opportunity to proactively upgrade at OLCI for about £500. For that booking I had my AAdvantage number in, but for this I have my BA Exec number in.

To clarify this is Cash upgrade not miles, as I am using BA Exec in this booking.
