It is interesting, as I was about to write my favorite St. Regis hotels (as I tend to enjoy them), I realized my most disappointing experiences ever at Starwood were also St. Regis

St. Regis Langkawi (mud pit of a beach, ceiling in our villa fell down, shower flooded whole area, sinks blocked)
St. Regis Singapore
St. Regis Abu Dhabi
St. Regis Shanghai (now Hongta LC)

I am wondering if this is because of higher expectations or what... but when I think of my top Starwood experiences -- esp service wise -- it is always as a less highly positioned brand.

Or perhaps Singapore and SH were early additions to StR so they lowered standard to get them into system and maybe sometimes StR rush construction? That certainly appears to be case with Langkawi.

FOr the life of me I dont understand the high feedback on Langkawi on Tripadvisor.
