Here's my itin
- Monday, fly in from Bratislava. Vienna-Heathrow, I think. Taking the OS455 at 17:15 means a) lunch in Vienna b) not flying Ryanair b) sane landing time in London with tons of options. These are enough for me to counter the somewhat higher plane ticket price.
- Tuesday: I need to be in Bristol in the morning preferably including lunch, and have things to do close to Totenham Court from 4-4:30pm till late.
- Wednesday evening: have stuff close to Liverpool street, sleep at Luton. Rest of Wednesday is free (watch Justice League?)
- Thursday: fly out from Luton.
Where would you sleep on Monday and Tuesday? I am eyeing Reading both nights. On Monday, it gets me half way roughly to Bristol and no transfers on either day, decreasing risk significantly. Also avoids wasting time with finding place and check in on Tuesday afternoon when time is real tight and I can get better places much cheaper in Reading than anywhere Central London (newsflash: Central London is expensive to stay at). Of course, if I can find a nice hotel to stay on Tuesday night ... somewhere ... then I could check in nighttime but if I am taking an Airbnb (which I usually do) then few places welcome guests showing up ... I dunno when, really. Potentially 9pm but maybe midnight or worse. Not quite sure how it'll go.
Disadvantage of course is Tuesday night going out to Reading but that seems quite doable even past midnight if things get particularly lively and I have all of Wednesday to come back. I won't have checked luggage so I am moving somewhat freely -- but having the same place for two nights allows me not to haul all I have to Bristol and London which again is a plus.
