I had an appointment with my physician last week. He flies to Vegas 4 or 5 times a year. He says he can never get tickets on US with miles, but he easily can get tickets to LAX. He says that Southwest flies almost hourly from a gate just across from his arrival gate and the fare is quite low. I haven't looked it up, but he claims that is the only way he goes these days.
