I ate at Crenn about 3 years ago (maybe things have changed). I thought the service and presentation were all on point. The food was very good, but I didn't think it was 3-star worthy; personally I thought maybe they focused a bit too much on making things look cool. Overall the restaurant kinda reminded me of Atera and Belcanto, and if both of these places are 2 stars, then Crenn surely is not a step above.

I would love to try Benu as well next time I'm in SF. I've heard very good things about it!
