I know some of you are so sophisticated with this. Any guidiance would be very appreciated.
Assuming you can plan a long time in advance one of the best ways might be to transfer 20,000 points to B.A. yielding 25,000 BA miles.

You can then use those miles to purchase a "Mile For Upgrade" (MFU) ticket on BA - i.e. part $$$ part miles. The ticket will be booked into BA's premium economy product and then upgraded to Club World.

For a LAX-EU trip you would *earn* more then 14000 miles, more if you have elite status on BA. Others report being able to get MFU tickets for less than $1000 but availability can be limited - check out the BA forum for some more tips.

Hope it work out for you!
