grlmopz : prefered seating means the ability to select a seat on A380 upper deck and in some rows at the front of other aircraft types (to exit the plane faster) which are not available to non status passengers, but not the very front row.
QR 777W seat map is misleading and in fact the seat with extra legroom is 12D (which is not blocked) and not 12G (which is blocked) ;-)
