And, if you had ever had a thought to visit Fiji, I think you could do a longer stopover in Nadi for no extra cost, but might need a phone call to QF or FJ to book.
There should also be access to the Qantas International Business Lounge in SYD and the lounge FJ uses in LAX.
IIRC Fiji has very high taxes that would be triggered if there was a stop over.
