My tier point collection year ends on 8th November and after a flight I have on 2nd/3rd Nov I will be at 595 tier points, 5 short of Silver... Best I have found is a return to Bordeaux for £70 but I have not looked at One World partners, only BA. With extra travel costs I'd be looking at around £120 or so which is just about worth it for me but still a bit frustrating to spend a day and that amount of cash just for 5 points, but so be it.

Would be very grateful for any advice on whether there are any other (cheaper/quicker) ways to get 5 tier points, or if people have experience of BA manually bumping them up to Silver if they are only 5 or so points short. I did email last week and they said they could only assess my account a few days before the end of my year - so I'm worried they will say no and I'll then have no time to book a cheap tier run...
