The move is only temporary at this point. It is to accomodate construction. Alaska or the port (I don't know who's responsible) will be installing underground fuel lines. At times, various parts of C and D will be closed for this construction which will make it necessary to have the extra gates available. AA is down to only about three gates in the C concourse and I believe AS will eventually take over the entire C concourse soon as well.

I don't belive that the N concourse currently has any INS facilities. I thought the UA flight to/from Tokyo was cleared at the S gates as are all other international arrivals.

I happened to tal to one of the Port's project managers at Seatac last night and as I recall what he said was that eventually when the new concourse A is done, all international (BA, SAS, EVA, Asiana) will be moving to A, freeing up space in the south satellite. When that happens the current idea is that Horizon will be moving some of their operations out to the South Satellite. Right no US Airways and I believe Delta are also moving out to the North Satellite since UA has more gates than they need. New Concourse A will be done in June 04. What I am curious about is when BA moves out of the south satellite are they going to build a new Terraces lounge in A to replace the one they jsut finished what, 15 months ago?
