I have taken flights into PHL, CLT, LGA, ORD, and LAX in Oct and almost every -one was extremely full. I did similar in July and Aug and it didn't seem nearly as busy. Not sure maybe it would have to do with a lesser schedule. Even compared to my flying last year it seems a lot busier on most of my flights in October. Most of my flights have been looking for volunteers even. October never has been this busy to me in my last few years.

Anyone else encountering this?

AA's traffic release will be out by November 10. Check the load factors year-over-year and vs. immediately prior months. Whether it's attributable to Basic Economy is a different question.
