At one point in the thread I thought your expectation was that (example) a 2,000 mile flight would require redeeming 2,000 miles. That is not true for Capital One, but it is also not true for airline programs.

Capital One miles have a fixed monetary value of $0.01 each. At another point in the thread it appeared that you thought they should be worth one hundred times more. Common sense should tell us that spending $1.00 is not going to return $1.00 or $1.25 in rewards.
