The great firewall is probably not bypassed that easily as you would be on a Chinese operator network, and that network will be subject to the restrictions.
Express VPN used to be a good option, but with the latest tightening of the checks I don't know if that still gets through. This is really more a question for the China forum, I am sure there are more people in the same situation.
