No you wont.
AMEX requires 5 days gap between 2 applications. You would always need to call in for the 2nd app if done on same day. Whether AMEX would pull another inquiry is very YMMV.
Some folks who have been with AMEX for a very long history dont even get a HP when applying certain cards. Happened to many as reported on the net.

Besides in these days and age, hard pulls do not matter much. The strategy is to determine WHICH cards you need to achieve your goal and then if such cards are Chase cards, then you do need to have some priority to work on. Similar matter also applies to Barclays which Aviator card while has $89 annual fee not waived, the first purchase gets you 60K AA miles.
The so-called "principle" the OP claimed about not willing to pay an AF does not hold water because OP wants A LOT from the banks but at the same time does not want to pay for it. Things dont work this way. It is only logical the banks need to differentiate their products and cheaper products naturally have lesser features, that include the bonus, the earning power, the transferrability and a whole host of other things.
