Crew availability according to a friend on the flight. It seems any time that route is 3 or more hours late it throws that crew off and there's a significant delay the next day.
Earlier this year I flew FRA-IAH and we were delayed a few hours. During the flight I was talking to an FA who said the purser was getting concerned with the delay since he had to work IAH-NRT the following day. I asked if there was anybody on reserve who could fill in and was told no.
