I have a Chase United MP Business explorer card.

As those of you know, they cover CDW in all countries except those mandated by law.

This is where it gets challenging. I'm renting in France (which does not require CDW by law) but also driving into Italy (which does).

The visa people were not very helpful. Has anyone experience with my question: "Do I need to take out CDW"? I'm concerned if I get into an accident in Italy I will have troubles making the claim on my CC since I declined the CDW. But if I do take it out I'll have challenges in France!
