We are blessed to have this opportunity, so let's not take it for granted.
....
Likewise I prefer getting out into the 'real' world beyond the big cities, away from work and the fast-paced hustle and bustle of everyday life. But the 'real' world is encountered in the day-to-day life even when we're not traveling too. As Anton Chekhov writes, any idiot can face a challenge; it's day to day living that wears you out and in which you realise your full potential.
decades ahead....I laugh when people talk about retirement....ever seen how fast our world (and health) is crumbling?
At current pace - no black swan events, and no current changes to WAY OF THINKING inside..
[Current way says we need more technology to fix problems caused by technology....electric cars, solar panels, wind farms, etc.... which all have health and environmental side effects]
- Great Barrier Reef dying, or will be dead/bleached, as well as many other reefs....search for news stories... it is happening VERY QUICKLY
- overfishing and related reliance on factory farming...but the seeds of this have been going on for more than a century (Much longer actually...not a recent problem)...must go back in time to solve problem...
- insect populations crashing and bees
- declining health of people and more related desperation due to reliance on "high-tech"...its a 2x edged sword (destructive effects of wireless technology)
- more land consumed for farming - rapid rise in population, because we don't understand why...but some do...
- weather change / climate change effects...hey...there are a few nice Hyatts on Puerto Rico for cheap use of points...want to go?
- forest fires increasing
- people who are afraid and don't even know "nature" - nevermind understanding the environment which we depend on
- obese / overweight, ADHD, diabetes, etc......say...the rise in these mirrors the rise in computer tech...hmm....too enAMORed we are with our technology and ourselves to see it...now Mark Zucker berg wants a "billion users" of VR...whatever.... I already have a secret desire to run over people who cross streets and our staring at their phones, oblivious to their surroundings. If people are so oblivious to their immediate area, imagine how oblivious they are to the larger world...yeah...that's what we need, more smartphones (For the record, I don't own one, nor do I even carry a mobile, nor do I work for any company that makes that tech....no hypocrisy here - which is one of the issues that needs to be resolved)
well..I could go on....
It's all happening right before our eyes...well...some have found an answer...but great suffering must continue to occur...too much pride and inflexibility in our systems....
but I see the black swan...and it ain't 69 or 72 virgins, Jesus, Christ, Mohammed, Buddha, Darwin, or any other such religious figures...minor or major...
