Word is Diamond lounge access will only be available in 2018 for those that have 25k tier or more. There had been talking at my local casino that it would be like that there but my friend just sent me a screenshot of 2018 benefits showing that it looks to be system wide for 2018
At local casino, word also is its like AC in that you can get in for $10 in comps but it's free for those are 25k tier plus.
The exact wording I got in an email from TR today regarding the changes (and an offer of bonus Tier Credits) is:
"In 2018, Diamond Lounge access will be complimentary for members who earn at least 25,000 Tier Credits in 2017."
"A fee may be charged for entry to Diamond Lounges. However, Diamond members that have earned at least 25,000 Tier Credits in the previous or current year will receive complimentary access. Additional fees for guests brought to the Diamond Lounge with Diamond member may apply. Where available. Other restrictions may apply."
Even if there is a charge, still may be worth it from time to time, I just wouldn't pop in for a quick drink or bottle of water anymore.
