Fair enough. I assume that the 27,083 miles showing on the attached screenshot are really for 27,083 miles, not 270,830 miles. It strikes me that the problem here is that I assume that the term "miles" means real physical miles, while they seem to be using it to mean something akin to "points." Yes, on the current application page and under the Redeem tab on the screenshot page, it does have the qualifying second sentence - "100 miles is equal to $1 in travel rewards" or something similar. That wasn't on the application page when I applied a few years ago. Even so, the two sentences there are contradictory: taken at face value, one would expect that "Earn unlimited 1.25X miles—that's 1.25 miles for every dollar you spend on purchases" means 1.25 real miles, not "0.125 miles for every dollar you spend on purchases." I thought that's what Truth-in-Advertising laws were supposed to be all about.

In fact, I had a Discover Miles card where they were quite explicit upfront about purchases to miles rate, nothing contradictory at all. Same with the U.S. Bank Cash Rewards card, where the actual rewards rate is clear, not dressed up as a $1 back for every $100 spent, when they really mean $.01 back for every $1 spent (those figures are just off the top of my head). And of course, percentage back cash offers are really the percent they say, not divided by 100 or some figure.
