If the dealer takes Amex (or any card) for the full price of your vehicle then you didn't get a very good price. Amex has special deals with car dealers that don't require them to accept more than a certain amount per purchase. So, if they have an Amex sign out front they don't have to accept that as payment for the full amount of your purchase.
