My 1st experience w St. Regis brand was that original gosh awful one in Shanghai (that is now LC Hongta). Next experience was w Singapore. It took me years before I tried another St Regis (Kauai which was fairly nice) because of the unmet expectations as I wrote about above Thread from these two St Regises.
Same thing actually for LC. Hongta was so bad (and 2nd experience was Sheraton Imperial LC in KL before it lost L ). It took me years before I went back. Now LC generally is my favorite brand within Starwood, and St. Regis is high up. But Singapore really is bad for what it is supposed to be.
