Update: the 120 day limit for NEXUS applicants who've received conditional approval to first use the appointment scheduling tool is still in effect. It is in addition to the 365 day total limit for completing your interview (and providing any requested follow-up documentation to the CBP or CBSA officer?), not a substitute for it.
On a related note, the CBP website unfortunately now lacks the
specific wording it used to have that
rescheduling of interviews after the 120 day limit will not run afoul of that limit, but presumably that is still the case.
More discussion about this, and the reason for the confusion, can be found in
the TTP thread.

Previously, as long as the applicant used the interview scheduling tool within 120 days of receiving conditional approval, they could continuously reschedule, presumably out into eternity.
The 120-day limit for first picking a date seems to have been eliminated.
