I have had an account on expedia.com for many years, but I recently used the same login at expedia.com.my (to purchase tickets for travel in Malaysia) and expedia.co.nz (for travel in New Zealand), so I now have separate accounts on these country-specific sites as well. I'm not sure how it works, but I assume that these sites are subsidiaries of Expedia that share login data but operate independently.

The cost of flights is often cheaper when booked on the country-specific sites, which is why Google Flights sometimes links to these. For future trips, you can check the price on both the main Expedia site as well as the country-specific site and decide whether the savings is worth the hassle.
