I have started looking for a hotel in Amsterdam 30 August to 2 Sept 2018 for vacation. Staying 3 nights and would like to have a central location that we can walk to food and some sights. I would like to stay right around the $300 - $325 USD a night rate.

I found The Hoxton and The Kimpton De Witt and both seem very nice. However, both are fully non refundable - regardless of the amount of notice given. A lot can change between now and August 2018 so the thought of not being able to cancel with even 30 days notice seems risky. I will add that most places are filling quickly for these dates even this far in advance and these are not the only hotels asking for a full nonrefundable payment now.

Does anyone have any comments on the Hoxton or Kimpton or another place that I should consider. Thanks in advance.
