Why would you expect to go to jail simply for bringing kitchen knives in? They could be gifts for chefs in the family, or a million other reasons. Surely, if someone wanted to do something illegal with knives, they could just go to any store in Santo Domingo with kitchen stuff and buy as many as they want. I am not worried about the declared allowance as they are for personal use and the receipt shows under 500
