Why would you expect to go to jail simply for bringing kitchen knives in? They could be gifts for chefs in the family, or a million other reasons. We are talking about a country, where when I exited the airport a police officer kept telling me he was thirsty, and wouldn't stop following me until he had 100 pesos in hand.

I am not worried about the declared allowance as they are for personal use and the receipt shows under 500

got them for under 100 a friend works at one of their stores
