Well, my observations are based on probably about 1,200,000 UA miles, 300,000+ AS/QX miles, and maybe another 100K+ on foreign carriers. (Other domestic carriers are too long ago to recall.) With respect to Kohflot's comments, flying UA a lot I fortunately have had the experience of Ch. 9. Notwithstanding all the variables, the overall "culture" at AS is to leave the sign on longer on the ascent, quicker on the descent, and faster at light chop. I make no comment as to whether this is good, bad, or indifferent. The occasional time I really just can't hold it anymore, or if I know the meal service is about to start and the air is smooth, I get up.
