Since there's very little input from Discoverists I thought I should add my thoughts on this year.

I've had 11 nights at Hyatt properties. I find the properties to generally be very good and/or good value for money. I dislike the WOH changes but I'm not in a position to change that.

The most valuable perk for me is the late checkout and that was offered by all but one property(and I didn't need it there). One hotel even apologized for not being able to extend the late checkout after 2pm and offered me free breakfast instead.

I can't set a monetary value on the Discoverist status but I've not spent any extra money on it.

My stays this year have been at:

HR Düsseldorf 1 night
GH Kuala Lumpur 1 night
GH Taipei 2 nights
GH Hong Kong 1 night
GH Berlin 1 night
HR San Francisco Financial district 1 night
HR Los Angeles Airport 2 nights
HP Salt Lake City Gateway/Downtown 2 nights

In the beginning of the year I felt like I just wanted to burn points but now I've changed my mind. I will stay at best hotel available within my price range. This has given me some status at several chains instead of top tier at one chain.
