Are you prepared to try moving yourself to an empty seat elsewhere on the aircraft, confirming that, and checking on EF - before moving yourself back to the seat you were originally in (assuming that's one that you want)?

Do you have a MyFlights account against which to check your seat allocation? Or have you tried CheckMyTrip?
