I am not sure whether it's
just redemption bookings starting in the USA but it certainly does make those significantly more expensive than those starting in the UK.
In order to mitigate the effect somewhat my next two trips are effectively nested bookings, so there's a UK - US - UK journey inside an US - UK - US one.
It's frustrating but not a lot we can do about it.
