Let us see, BA's CASK excluded fuel is £0.0403 according to their annual report for 2016 and their RASK is £0.0578. BOS-LHR return stage length if 6500 miles that translate to cost excluding fuel is £262 and revenue average per seat is £375.70.

Another evidence supported by Airline Economic Analysis suggests BA's overall CASM including fuel is roughly shy of $0.12. That gives the cost for BOS-LHR return less than USD$780.

I think either way BA is clearly taking a ride on its passengers.
