Why can't BA use items made in the UK in First?
So, I understand that BA F is pitched at a different price point to many other carriers in F, that's a business choice which I'm not going to debate.
But why oh why is so little of the BA F product made in the UK? Surely it would be a great way to differentiate BA, the same way many other British luxury brands do. They don't have to choose the most expensive British products. It would cost almost nothing to, say, switch the Aromatherapy Associates amenities to something made in the UK (or perhaps add a few pounds to the ticket given that's not going to happen with current management, has anyone paying cash for F ever really thought 'wow, it's £4,807 rather than £4,802 for that ticket, better go J?')
The point was just driven home to me having checked where the very nice lambswool blanket CX give out in F is made on the label - turns out the UK. Oh the irony that the BA F blanket is made in China (IIRC).
