The AA iPhone app seems to update itself when IT wants to. If you're flying, and you want to check your flight's arrival time, it's frustrating because if you check the app, it often says, "Last updated ___ hours and __ minutes ago", so the information that it shows may not be current.

Is there a way to set the AA app so that you can update it whenever you want, rather than whenever it wants?

(I don't mean update the app to be the latest version; I mean update the information shown on the app, rather than letting it update the information every few hours.)
