Bumping from OVERSEAS destinations
Recent posts covered bumping on U.S. carriers on domestic flights. I am wondering about bumping from overseas airports, e.g. U.S. carriers from European/Asian/Latin American airports.
Years ago I was denied boarding on Varig from Rio to LAX. Did receive no compensation.
"We do not do that in Brazil" I was told while handed over a hotel voucher at 1.a.m.
A letter of complaint to Varig LAX netted in a promise for a 1-way upgrade on a future flight.
Any experiences to share?
