The Imperial is a great hotel, for sure. It's been several years since I last stayed there and it looks as though they have done some public space renovations. Specifically, I do not recall the bar being that grand. I remember a very cozy redish type space to the right of the lobby. Across from the restaurant almost. In any case the new one looks worthy of a revisit.
We visited at the holidays and it was totally, completely perfect for an in city holiday hotel. Decorations were nice but restrained. There was a special holiday meal theme in the restaurant.
Our junior suite was on a higher floor so lacked the high ceilings, but was spacious, centered in the hotel directly overlooking the Kartner Ring with an enormous bathroom.
We had just picked up a BMW in Munich and had no issues parking the car on the street in front of the hotel during our stay. Great hotel!
