Yeah I just saw that. In the back of my mind I was almost expecting this to happen when they started limiting the Sapphire cards. I thought what's to stop them from doing this to others. If true, it's a sad day indeed.
I still wonder if you could get one SW card say now and then cancel it in say February and get a 2nd card in June...........18 months sure beats no CP
It also makes me wonder if I should close my Marriott Personal now as I plan on getting the Marriott business card soon. Which leads to another question which is will business cards count ?

This DP from DOC's site seems good but the original app date was 11 days ago , not sure if that wold make a difference.
