AA has a terrible European network, let alone their own limited European destinations on AA metal. They will force you through LHR, on BA, providing you the additional benefit of shelling out for the absurd fuel charge.
Better off on Star Alliance or Sky if frequenting Europe.
You might want to do a little research before making baseless comments like that. I just made two award round trips from PHX-MIL a week before the flights and had solid availability almost everyday - some better than others. No doubt do to the seasonality of the trips, but nonetheless quite pleased...now, next Summer seems a wasteland (not including the daily BA offerings).
