Thumbs down Avoid at All Costs! Not worthy of the Hyatt Regency Brand!!

Good morning all - over many years of Diamond/Globalist status, I have experienced numerous minor issues, but Hyatt always excels at handling them. This is the first property that truly does not make any effort to handle issues and it does nothing to earn the Hyatt Regency name. After a 4-night stay last week, I can definitely say this is not a property anyone should utilize!!

First and foremost, yes, the renovations are complete; by "complete" I mean the interior construction is done, except for the Morton's which is still being finished. The rooms looks quite nice - very ultra-modern, almost as if they are trying for an Andaz feel. However, that being said, it is clear the renovations were hurried. In multiple rooms, the wall paper is already peeling, and wallpaper seems are extremely noticeable. New televisions are nice; and, those TVs include remotes for Netflix, but none of the TVs will connect to Netflix, indicating the network isn't set up. Toilets are low flow, but the one in our room would randomly flush itself every 10-20 minutes and you had to hold the handle down for a good minute to get it to flush. Also, escalators were frequently inoperable and despite having 25 floors, only 3 elevators - one of which was broken the entire stay.

Check-in is insane and very poorly handled; two small desks with 2 staffing it max at any given time. When the airport shuttle would arrive, check-in waits exceeded 30 minutes and the lines extended way out of the lobby! And, although they have one of the two desks with the WoH Sign for "priority check-in," no priority check-in was offered or available.

Additionally, although we all disagree with the new tier names, this property does not even understand what they are. As a Globalist, at check-in it was, "welcome, thank you for being a member." No recognition of any elite tier for my party or another I saw check-in later.

The worst part of this property is by far the security issues the front desk and valet staff create. We were there for a wedding, and had established a room block. Several members of the room block arrived and checked in fine, only to reach their room, open the door and find people inside. No fewer than three separate groups were sent to already occupied rooms; not only is that poor service, but it is a security issue. Then, as for valet - whatever you do, do NOT valet here. The valet staff simply leaves the valet stand unmanned with the key box open! Numerous members of the group walked by and saw the keys not guarded and easily accessible to anyone who wanted them. And, to top if off, one of the valet's struck one of the guest's vehicles with another one and the property is giving the run-around about fixing it; they even discouraged the filing of a police report. Upon the arrival of the police, it was clear why; apparently this happened multiple times over the last week, to include other issues with vehicles damaged and moved and keys gone missing.

Multiple attempts to have a meeting with the GM or to get even a phone call or an e-mail back from the GM have gone unanswered. Several members of the group left messages but have yet to hear anything back, and I doubt they will. Management just does not seem to care!

That covers the major points; this property should be avoided at all cost and is the first property that I have ever felt is not worthy of the Hyatt name!
