Note that the fare buckets are only one part of the equation needed. The other is the actual fare filing. In this case, seems there are still G fares in the bucket, but something is preventing a G fare being sold for your route.

If you post the specifics (date, route), someone may be able to provide further illumination.
Itinerary was for:

11/11 ORD-LAX UA531
11/15 LAX-ORD UA269

Before the fare change, it was for $138 for a G-fare. Now, it's at $236 for a K-fare. Still a pretty decent price but $100 more :-)
