United Fare Change Timing
I was checking out airfares on United's website this morning around 8:45am Central and found a bunch of flights with fare class G departing the week before Thanksgiving for $69 one way. I went into expert mode and found at least 6 different flight combinations on the same travel days with the same airfare, all with a "G9". Happy that there was plenty of inventory, I texted the possible itineraries to my wife and then had to run off to a meeting.
When I came back to my desk (around 10:00am Central), I can no longer find the fare. It is now only offering a N or K fare (with the K-fare being $50 more one-way). I've been using the website for a while now and this is the first time (for me) that they changed an airfare in the middle of the day. If there is sufficient inventory, I normally have a whole day to line up my travel plans. My wife now thinks I had too much coffee and was seeing things.
Out of curiosity, my questions are:
1. When does United normally change their airfares?
2. In expert mode, it is still showing G9. Who can actually buy the G-fares now?
3. Is there any way I can see when the fare change took place? (It would prove I didn't drink too much coffee :-)
