Emirates changed a flight significantly. What are my rights?
I have a flight booked for February next year: Oslo-Dubai-Nairobi-Dubai-Oslo. We were supposed to have a 1h 55 minutes stop over in Dubai and arrive in Kenya next morning at 06:00. I got an email now saying that "due to operational requirements some parts of my itinerary have changed". Specifically my connection flight is now leaving almost 9 hours later, meaning an 11 hours layover in Dubai. In addition I will arrive at my destination equally long later compared to what I booked. This means I will not be able to make my connecting flight (to go on a safari) and will basically lose a complete holiday.
My flight is in business class. However, I have booked Emirates business saver. This ticket normally has a significant fee for cancellation or changes. Can I expect Emirates not to charge these fees since they made these significant changes? What are my rights?
