Not only is this irrelevant, but it's not even true.

I may have posted about this incident, but I had a YYZ SE check-in agent adamantly state that I was not booked on 568 YVR-SFO one day. He kept proclaiming it, trying to get rid of me. I got angry. I gave him my booking reference. He went pale, apologized, and gave me my boarding pass.

So yes, it helps at the airport (in AC's current system).

That being said, I am 100% sure that AC employees can find your flights if they want to. And I'm not talking about the ones who work at the airport. They're usually the ones asking me when I'm flying next.
