Thank you for contacting the Guest Assistance after your recent stay with us.
We seek to clarify that RM10 reflected on your departure folio was imposed as the Tourism tax charged to non-Malaysian when staying in any of the hotels in Malaysia without any exception, unless you are holding a Malaysia Permanent Resident card. . This law was officially enforced by Malaysia Government effective from 1st September 2017 and it was explained to Mrs upon departure yesterday.

Please be informed that Tourism Tax is NOT part of the redemption/reward stay inclusion tax. Please refer to the Reward Redemption Hilton Honors; “Clause 20” as below link for your understanding;

Hotel Reward Stays apply to full Point redemptions or Point redemptions combined with money. Redemption stays can be used for Standard Rooms or Premium Rooms; both Reward types are for double occupancy room rate. Additional occupants, age 19 and above, are subject to the standard extra person charges. Any tax liability incurred (if any) in connection with the receipt and/or use of Hilton Honors Rewards, including, but not limited to, local or city occupancy taxes, international departure tax, customs fees, airport surcharges or individual income tax is the sole responsibility of the user. Incidental charges are the responsibility of the user.
