I recently overnighted at the Courtyard PRG and at the end of the check-in process, the young front desk employee asked: "Do you need company?".
I declined; she did not insist.
To me, that phrasing is a standard opening line by sex workers (or their surrogates) in search of customers. I thought that the employee would have been able to provide me with the services of a professional escort had I answered in the positive.
English was / is not the mother tongue of either of us so is this just a misunderstanding?
