BIB - I think there is a difference between booking AA and expedia. I'd have no qualms about booking AA, but would be reluctant to use expedia unless the savings (over both AA and BA) and I was quite certain I would need to make NO changes to the booking at all, as per c-w-s' excellent advice above.
