Amex takes the first letter of the fare basis and reports it in the statement as the booking class. However, all BAEC award bookings for travel on BA nominally use a fare basis starting with B - typically BAFM01 or something like that. Amex just blindly takes that letter B and reports it as the booking class.
Iīm not that familiar with the 241, but isnīt the first letter of the fare base usually the booking class? Never heard of a fare base used like that where the first 2 letters are the IATA Airline-Code. How can you read the BAFM01 farebase? BA for the Airline, F for First, what does that M01 stand for?
