Yes, shorts and sandals are preferred. Honestly, if you're not going onto the road/off the beach into the village, you can just walk around barefoot on the beach all the time. No sandals needed. There are restaurants beachside at the village.
So to sum it up
, since I'll be there next month, best plan is to slip some sandals or shoes in your backpack for the trek so you have what you need when you need it!
