Yes, this is correct. Bags will be transferred directly to the Hong Kong flight if the two flights are on the same ticket.

After you arrive in Beijing for the signs for International Transfer and head for the "transfer within 24 hours" lane on the far left. You will go through a passport check and then clear security again.
