I would like to fly to Zurich or Vienna or close by and back (flixbus and competitors are cheap and I have time), openjaw ideal without paying a lot in taxes and fees.

My ideal start point in Victoria (YYJ) or Vancouver (YVR) , but I could pay my own way to Seattle as well. I can book eleven months out. It’s just for one seat, I have quite a few Alaska miles (which I was hoping to use for asia on Cathay or Japan or similar, but frustratingly the last few times aa has had a seat or more on them , while Alaska has not ) open to all classes of service but prefer whichever requires less miles and money .

Any suggestions or tips ?
