Called and canceled my Platinum personal card today. Agent put me on hold for a second when I said the annual fee was the reason for my termination. Came back and said he could process it after reading me the disclaimer - I was going to cancel it anyway (unless I got offered >50K points), but I'm slightly insulted that AmEx was smart enough to not even offer me anything for retention.
